Family Experience

Instagram_June 24.jpg

One of the great things about Jesus is that He is for EVERYONE! He didn't exclude anyone, no matter socioeconomic status, age, education level, ethnicity, or other segment of the population. Everyone was welcome! We are really excited about a new opportunity to welcome everyone just as Jesus did.

Our 11am service on Sunday, June 24 will be an opportunity for all of us to sing, learn, talk, and have fun together from babies to seniors. While we regularly have times for age specific programs, we also think there should be times to follow Jesus together. Toddlers and kids can learn from seasoned adults while parents can have fun with their teenagers.

Our students will help us kickoff our time together with some fun and discussion. Our kids will teach the adults a song or two that they sing regularly. Our adults will demonstrate taking courageous next steps to follow Jesus. Our hope is that this is a faith building experience for everyone looking to be part of a church family.

As a church, we look for opportunity to engage everyone just as Jesus did.

Our 11am service on Sunday, July 15 will be our next opportunity to do that as we sing, learn, talk, and have fun together from babies to seniors. Summer Camp

Instagram.jpg

Sunshine. Good food. Beautiful redwoods. Rope-swings & swimming. No school. What could be better? We have a weeklong summer camp for middle & high school students that offers all of this and more! Through this year's theme of "Filtered", we will examine the filters we use to relate with others and God and begin to look at life through a new set of filters. Our hope is that students will encounter God through quality music, practical messages, engaging conversations, and lots of fun...and then come home with a changed perspective!

Easter with us

Instagram_title.jpg

The story of Easter is quite amazing, maybe even too amazing to believe. Ironically this year Easter falls on April Fool's Day.

  • Did Jesus just fool everybody?
  • Were the eyewitnesses who saw Jesus just playing a trick?

Spend Easter with us this year as we look at the reasons Christians believe Jesus rose from the dead 2,000 years ago. We don't believe in belief. Our belief is based on evidence. Join us at 11am as we explore this amazing story together. There also will be singing, coffee & donuts, and a family photo booth.

Whether you are searching for some "thing" more to life, starting to inquire about God, or returning to church for the first time in a while, you are welcome here!

* Preschool and elementary children are invited to enjoy and learn about the story of Easter in a program designed for their ages. New children will receive a special gift in their classes.

Workshop - Parenting

Instagram_Parenting.jpg

Parenting can be a struggle for many of us, particularly because our kids are constantly changing! A newborn is quite different than a toddler, and a third grader is vastly different than a middle school student. Every year our kids change mentally, physically, culturally, relationally, emotionally, and morally. Every year is just a new phase to walk through together.

Saturday, March 17 we are hosting a FREE workshop to help parents know what to expect in the next year ahead, simple steps to determine what is most important in this next phase, and some conversation ideas to help navigate these transitions. We also have some FREE gifts for parents...oh yeah, and childcare is included!

* Free gift & childcare for those who register below by March 10!

How to Neighbor - Christmas Shoeboxes

Instagram_Christmas Shoeboxes.jpg

While Christmas is about more than gifts, Jesus was a gift from God to us. We want to use gift giving as a way to love kids and show them Jesus. While all of us have heard of the Syrian refugee crisis, they are as close as Sacramento, and you can help! Below are the steps for you and your family to pack a Christmas shoebox for a child from a refugee family. We are collecting these boxes until November 12, when we will get them ready to be transported to Sacramento.

  1. Shoebox - use an empty cardboard or plastic shoebox (average size). Please only color or draw on the box as wrapping will be removed.
  2. Boy or Girl - Decide whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the age category: 2-4, 5-8, 9-12.
  3. Fill with Gifts - Fill the box with a variety of new, quality gifts that will be a delight to a child. Click here to see a list of Gift Suggestions & gifts to avoid.
  4. Shipping Label & CostPrint or pick up a Label at the Connection Counter on Sunday. Mark the correct age category and tape the label to the top of your box.
  5. Drop-off - at Lobby Connection Counter by Sunday, November 19.

If you are not able to put together a shoebox, you can donate towards purchasing more shoeboxes and paying for transportation costs.

How to Neighbor - Foster the Bay

Instagram_Foster the Bay.jpg

There are hundreds of children in Santa Clara County in need of a loving family. What if we could be the place where abused and neglected children became beloved daughters and sons?

On top of the need, this is a strategic way we can see an improved Bay Area. The long-term effects of growing up without a caring and stable family include: decreased educational achievement, higher rates of crime, greater likelihood of unemployment, and higher risk of being trafficked.

We are partnering with a local organization Foster the Bay to provide 3 various ways to help.

# 1 For those interested in supporting Foster the Bay financially, you can Give Online.

#2 For those who might be interested in volunteering with Foster the Bay, they have volunteer openings as they host the meetings above by providing child care, hosting food, registration & set up/tear down helpers. Email Pastor Chris for more info.

#3 If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Support Friend, Foster Family, or Foster the Bay volunteer, you can attend an Interest Meeting:

  • 11/9/17 (Thursday) 7:00-8:30pm at Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City
  • 11/16/17 (Thursday) 7:00-8:30pm at The Highway Community in Mountain View
  • 12/9/17 (Saturday) 9:00-10:30am at Calvary Church in Los Gatos
