Coronavirus Update - 03 10 2020

New Life Church Family,

If you have been around New Life recently, you know that we want our church to be known for loving Cupertino and the surrounding communities.

The current outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a serious and real threat to people in our community and around the world. Particularly in this time of uncertainty, how we respond in love to our community will reveal our faith in Jesus as well as the value we place on human life and the vulnerable people in our community. Join us as we continue in this unique season with a mindset of love and service.

To do that we are asking the Jesus question now as we would other situations: What does love require of us?

Online Services

At this time, all of our services have moved online.

We are still gathering on Sundays, just not on our physical campus together. Instead, we are asking everyone to participate in our online service. Even though our venue has changed, the rhythm of gathering should not. Our 10:30am service will be happening online at online.nlnc.org. So please participate and attend from your home.

Until directed otherwise, we are going to honor our government’s request to practice “social distancing” physically. With your help, we think it is possible to be “socially distant and spiritually connected.” The church has never been about the building anyway. Now, we have an opportunity to prove that! Also, this will be a great opportunity to engage your friends and neighbors by sharing our online service with them. We’ll continue providing online tools in the coming days to help you spread the word.

Check out the rest of our website for easy access to our online service, previous messages, and ways to stay connected to each other including for kids and students.

Why?

To paraphrase from agencies and experts, the implementation of aggressive strategies that create social distance has proven effective at reducing illness and death and slows the spread of the virus so that our healthcare system can effectively treat those infected. In other words, avoiding large gatherings works. While inconvenient, it’s a form of caring.

We made these decisions out of love for people - especially our elderly and those with pre-existing conditions, not just those close by, but also far away.

What’s next?

The church is still functioning because the church is YOU! Our goal is that while we may not be meeting in person for Sunday services, we will continue our rhythms of faith as best as we can.

We will do our best to communicate with you regularly to keep you informed of any developments. Keep this website handy, like us on Facebook, subscribe to our YouTube channel, and follow us on Instagram.

Let’s continue our rhythms of faith, place our full trust & hope in Jesus, and love our community like never before.
