Pastor of Chinese Ministries
In 1996, David approached the New Life leadership and shared his vision of beginning a Chinese Ministry at New Life Church. Since then, he and his wife Jing Ko Hoi have been serving at New Life, ministering to the needs of our Chinese members and the larger community, as well as supporting the overall work of the church. Prior to that, David and Jing spent 10 years ministering in the Bay Area and Macau.
David is a graduate of Christian Witness Theological Seminary.
Joining us in 2016, Kyle is primarily the Worship Leader for our English Congregation. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, he led worship in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Hawai'i.
Kyle is a graduate from Point Loma Nazarene University with a degree in Music Ministry and is a well-rounded musician working in his profession.
Yokie joined New Life in 1998, and started to serve as our Office Manager in 2004. Much of her work is behind the scenes, but it allows us to have more time for our community.
She graduated from Iowa State University majoring in Computer Science.
The facility, finances, ministry, and operations of New Life Church are all overseen by an annually elected church board made up of members from all of our congregations. The church board meets monthly, with occasional extra meetings as needed. Church board meetings are generally open to anyone, unless a closed session is necessary for dealing with personnel issues or other sensitive topics. The board is chaired by the Lead Pastor of the church.
New Life Church is part of the Northern California District, or network, of other Nazarene churches in our area. Each year we elect delegates to represent our church at the Northern California District Assembly. These meetings are held in May to coordinate and oversee the business of about 70 Nazarene churches in Northern California.
